Cargo PlantLove Botanical Lipsticks

Cargo_plant_loveCARGO has been on the radar for many a beauty junkie.  The lip gloss quads are some of my favorites, but the Beach and the Suede Blues are too-die-for.  CARGO then decided to do something a little better.  The CARGO PlantLove Botanical Lipsticks are friendly to the environment, contains shea butter and seed oil, but not petroleum-based ingredients.  The case is made from corn and can be used to plant a seed into the earth.  Literally you can plant the box and grow a flower.  That is pretty cool.  My pick is Majella, a sheer rose plum that works well from spring into summer and on a multitude of skin colors.  Plus, here’s my favorite part – $2 of each lipstick benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Last year, the potion lady visited St. Jude’s and we decided to make St. Jude’s a part of our mission of pretty philanthropy.  She was so moved that we couldn’t help but make continuous donations.  So, plant a little love on your lips, as well as, in your heart by giving to the earth and someone else.

  1. These are so fabulous aren’t they? I have two of the boxes ready to plant this season as soon as the ground is ready. I cannot wait to see how the flowers bloom.

  2. So pretty! I’ve seen these plantable-container lipsticks around but haven’t tried them yet. This is probably the most creative “green” packaging in recent memory… What a good idea on the part of the Cargo people. And I agree that their lip gloss is genius.
