Beauty News for the New Beauty School Year

It's the weekend – finally. I'm so happy.  The fashion and beauty school year has begun so let's give some corresponding beauty news for the long weekend.  I love this time of year – new pens, paper, and big thick September magazines.

Coach and Ecko

  • Kiehl's is launching its first organic skin care collection with Brazilian Acai berry.  The line launches this month at all Kiehl's stores and online.
  • Dolce and Gabbana will release the final fragrance in their The One fragrance brand.  Rose the One has launched at Saks Fifth Avenue and will roll out to more stores October.  The previous collections scents The One and Eau The One.  A commercial featuring Scarlett Johansson will be rollling out in the next few weeks.  The scent features notes of Bulgarian rose, lychee, lily, peony, vanilla, musk, mandarin, and amber.
  • Lalique will launch Encre Noir Pour Elle later this month.  This scent comes three years after Encre Noire. The scent has notes of Haitian vetiver, musk, amber, freesia, and Turkish rose.
  • Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist is celebrating 15 years of fragrance.  The scent with notes of sandalwood, musk, bergamot and Moroccan jasmine has been a staple in many fragrance arsenals including mine.  For the 15 year anniversary the line will launch Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition Eau de Parfum this month.  There will be new ads featuring Milla Jovovich of course wrapped in cashmere.
  • Tracey Malone has helped launched Lubatti Skincare.  You might recognize Tracey's last name for beauty.  Her sister is Jo Malone the fragrance creator.  Lubatti Skincare is based on Madame Lubatti a homeopath and London-based facialist who worked in the Twenties.  Tracey has been using the recipes of Madame Lubatti and decided to create an entire line.  The line will be available at Space NK in the UK and the U.S.  I can't wait to sample this line during Fashion Week.
  • Ferragamo Parfums has launched a home line called Tuscan Soul Lifestyle Home Collection.  The line includes sachets, candles, room spray, and other items.  I might head to Neiman Marcus this weekend to get a whiff.
  • Sears Plans to jump back into beauty with 13 full service beauty departments in select locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
  • Marc Ecko has launched his first men's fragrance Ecko by Marc Ecko.  The scent was crated with notes of violet leaves, black licorice, and musk.
  • 3Lab Skincare will launch Perfect Neck Cream and Perfect "C" Serum later this fall. Perfect Neck Cream launch at Barneys New York in October and then to other retailers in November.  Perfect "C" Serum will launch November 1.  They will also introduce a new Perfect Skin travel kit.  I have to get this kit.  The travel kit will only be available for 3 months and will include "M" Cream and Super "h" Serum as well.
  • Kim Kardashian will launch her first fragrance in Spring 2010.
  • Coach is launching Coach for Men, it's first men's fragrance in mid September.
  • Cartier is launching Les Heures de Parfum.  This is a 5 piece fragrance set and are numbered I, IV, X, XII, and XII (after the address of the flagship boutique in Paris – 13 Rue de la Paix).  The set will launch at seven Saks Fifth Avenue stores.
  • Deborah Lippmann has relaunched her nail line.  The line formerly called Lippmann Collection will now be Deborah Lippmann.  All the products will be relaunched in new bottles as well.
  • Chris McMillan Hair will launch infomercials featuring Jennifer Aniston, Debra Messing, and Courtney Cox to promote the launch.  The videos will air this fall.
