It has been said that time flies when you are having fun, but who knew it would be this much fun. A year ago I walked into a courthouse in Maryland and said “I Do” to an amazing man. After an exhilarating and fun courtship, heated debates on politics, current events and traveling the world we decided to top it off by getting married. I believe the couple that travels together, stays together. I never would have believed that so much of my life has happened because of the digital world. I found a career I’m passionate about, numerous friends, and a husband.
When we met, we each had our bucket list destinations. For us, bucket lists are those outrageous things you want to experience. I’m a sports junkie and mine was to attend the World Cup and his was to explore Egypt. Well in 2010 we made both dreams come alive. They happened to be in the same continent. Although quite a distance apart, we thought, why not? We attended the World Cup in South Africa and frolicked around Egypt for 10 days.
A lot of girls enjoy planning a wedding, but I’m not a wedding girl. At all. I am about the the proposal. On July 6, 2010 everything changed. After a camel ride up the Sahara, in front of the Pyramids of Giza we got engaged. It was bananas – on bended knee, lots of tears, and a goofy happy dance with our guides showing off the ring. My husband is very private – no Facebook, Twitter, etc. I asked if I could post the video of the big event and he said yes. You can see I’m trying not to go into the “ugly cry” by waving my hands over my eyes, but I couldn’t help it. Had I known I would be riding a camel that day I would have worn pants.
To Mr. Wanderlust. It’s been a fun (almost) 4 years together. We have had experiences most people will never know. In that time we’ve hit Spain, Paris, South Africa, Buenos Aires, Egypt, Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, and more. Here’s to more flight planning, airline ticket purchases, lounge visits, and many more adventures. It’s time I start documenting them for other couples to see. I know they could use the inspiration.
Love,
Mrs. Wanderlust

Now that doesn’t mean easy, but it can be a lot of fun. Looks like yall are having fun … I wish yall all the success in the world as a couple and individually in your own persuits.
