I consider myself a spiritual person and love a good Sunday morning service. I like meeting the Lord early because I enjoy a manicure on Sundays followed by football in the afternoon. The majority of nail salons in the South don't open on Sunday, but I find this a great day to recharge the beauty routine. In honor of Angel writing about Crystal McCrary Anthony on her blog Steal Style, I had to step out with my best "Sunday-Go-To-Meeting" clothes resplendent of Crystal. Crystal, do your thing and please keep doing it so well and pretty. Your skin is GORGEOUS. I wasn't hailing a cab in the big apple, but I was looking elegant, classy and pretty.
I took out my best dark gray suit, black pumps and red patent handbag. The usher at church could have cared less about my clothes. She was staring hard at my smoky eye and asking me what perfume I was wearing. My look was the Giorgio Armani Black Gem Holiday Collection with nude lips. FIERCE, ladies. FIERCE. Mr. Armani is known for timeless, classic and elegant clothes, but he doesn't stop there.
Why hasn't anyone informed me that the Armani Code fragrance is as lethal as the new James Bond - Daniel Craig? As I lathered up shower gel, body lotion and sprayed perfume before leaving home to thank my creator for life, all I could think of was: "Code. Armani Code." It may have had something to do with seeing the new Bond movie. How else would I get to live out my Bond girl fantasy if I didn't change my makeup and perfume? This perfume has been added to the vanity rotation.
I am sorry for only now creating a new post. I started a new "day" job on the 20th and the week before that was a flurry of busyness. I was in NY on Tuesday and Wednesday (14th and 15th). Thursday, the 16th was a true highlight. My yoga studio's Creative Director, Kimberly Wilson, supportive guru and all around genuine and sweet lady had her book launch at the swanky Hotel Palomar on P Street. Hip Tranquil Chick: A Guide to Life On and Off the Yoga Mat is full of Kimberly's love of yoga, life, creativity, flair and passion. I love to support women who want to fulfill whatever dreams and goals they have. It has definitely been a few weeks of very pretty things.
I am thankful for the blog readers who consider All About the Pretty as a resource. I was so grateful for Thanksgiving to rest and rejuvenate and catch up on my beauty rest. Beauty of course was the main topic when Tanya decided to fly down and visit her adoring mom for "gobble, gobble day." I didn't have to cook and I truly stuffed myself on all that Southern home cooking.
The holidays are here. Ladies, please take time for yourselves no matter how busy you are. "Give yourself to yourself, before you give yourself away." Always put ME on the calendar when scheduling. Why? Because you deserve it.
As always stay smart, strong and pretty.

Hey! I read your blog from time to time and really enjoy it. I have never tried Giorgio Armani makeup so I'll be adding that to my list the next time I hit Bloomingdales or Neiman Marcus! Gotta try that Armani Code too!!!

I'm a guy, but I have to say that I wear Armani Black Code and get lots of good comments when I wear it out. It's heavy in the rotation along with Dolce & Gabanna, Abercrombie & Fitch original, and Acqua Di Gio. I can imagine that the womens fragrance from Armani is equally enticing, I'll have to go check it out in case I need to purchase a gift.
By the way, if you get a chance please come visit www.trendi.com where you can post your stories on our site, and they'll link back to your blog. Also you can find out what other people are into right now! Happy Holidays!

I have used some of Becca. I have the Shimmering Skinperfector in Bronze Shimmer and the Pressed Shimmer Powder in Athena. Tia mentioned on Shake Your Beauty awhile back on the Becca Luminous Tinted Skin Color in Mink.

Julia, Julia, you have such a wonderful sense of scents! I'm trying to step away from my "Old Faithful - Perry Ellis 360". Now you got me running to Saks or Neimans to smell Armani Code TODAY and I'll report back to you.
I bet you were absolutely stunning at church, dawling.
So, I'm off to get some pretty smells :)

Stephanie, from what I have gathered the skincare is in the works and slated for Fall 2007 and the men's line for Spring 2008.

Kia, yes, it's great to be back. Stephanie, the only other product I had used by Armani Cosmetics was the Fluid Sheer in #3 and a few lip shimmers. The compact was a bit "up there" but I truly love it. I have a lighter version on today for work. I will definitely have to try the eye liner. Normally if I use an eyeliner pencil it's been Lancome's. I don't know your age, but in the 80s Diana Ross did a concert in Central Park and it rained. Her makeup did not come off. She was using the Lancome eye liner pencil. If it's good for Ms. Ross, it's good enough for me.

I love Giorgio Armani Cosmetics. I used their luminous silk foundation (the travel size with the foundation brush), and it gives the best converage. I'm also addicted to their eye liner, nothing glides smoother.
The new holiday collection looks amazing! I have the Hollywood collection and they are the best evening colors (this is also when I found out dark green eye shadow is a great alternative to the brown I've been using all my life).
Anyways, do you have any comments or suggestions on Armani make up? I'd love to hear about it. (I heard they are coming out with a skin care line, is that true?)
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. =)
