Is it fall or is it still summer. Some days I don't know. I know in Texas it usually feels like summer year-round, but I feel like I need more sun protection - and I also need those items to make my face "glow." I don't mean sweat. The early mornings and late nights have made my face look a little on the sallow side. (I can't completely blame work, it may be the fact that I'm eating like I have no sense and drinking margaritas for sustenance). I am going to need at least a few days to detox before my yoga conference this weekend. But my Susan Taylor Bright and Even Exfoliating Moisturizer is helping big-time. Dr. Susan Taylor is a premier dermatologist that has created products targeting women of color. It's sold exclusively right now at Sephora and it's definitely something to checkout if you are a woman of color.
The Bright and Even is a brightening moisturizer. I have been using it a few days and realize that it's definitely a product I can alternate with my daily moisturizer since I don't suffer from hyperpigmentation. The problem with most people dealing with hyperpigmentation is that they use products all over the face instead of using it as a spot treatment. A lot of the over-the-counter skin lighteners contain 2% hydroquinone, which should be used on the dark areas only. It can even out skin tone, but it can also cause lightness in areas that you really don't want to lighten up. If you are experiencing a lack of luster this product may be for you. As with any skin problems, check with your dermatologist to make sure you are doing everything right.
Remember, pretty makeup looks good on pretty skin.

Greetings!
I've heard of Dr. Taylor for awhile and have been meaning to try out that particular product. Thanks for the reminder! I would love to have her as my dermatologist, but I'm afraid the commute (I live in the western US) would be a wee bit too much for my car. But oh my God, I wish I had a derm who wears stilettos and Chanel suits to work. My current derm had black bruises on his face the other night at an Open House at his spa. Only later did I find out it was from a recent trial with some fillers. Smooth move, dude.
Love your blog!

Hey Julia!
Dr. Taylor is my dermatologist. If you think her products are awesome, you should meet her. The woman is incredibly professional and truly cares about brown skin and she wears STILETTOS and Chanel suits to work honey!
Just an FYI any product with hydroquinone should be applied with a q-tip so the bleaching cream only gets on the affected area.
Love, love, love your blog.

This sounds like a product that I should try. I have been reading about Dr. Taylor's line recently. Too many late nights working on school and work projects is taking a toll on my skin. I need extra help these days to keep my skin looking bright and fresh.
What active ingredients in this product? I have not been able to find them online.
