I'm so sad to say that Paul Starr, one of the top makeup artist in the business was found dead today.
According to WWD, "In his more than 20 years as a top makeup artist, Starr worked extensively in fashion and film, working as a key makeup artist at fashion shows for designers Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Dolce & Gabbana and Sass & Bide. He worked with a who’s who of top fashion photographers, including Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh and Ellen Von Unwerth, and with commercial, film and video directors such as Tim Burton, Spike Lee and Paul Hunter.
His celebrity clients were said to include Rosanna Arquette, Joni Mitchell, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Garner, Jada Pinkett Smith and Anjelica Huston.
In 2003, Starr also created the first national makeup artist team for Estée Lauder, training a group of artists who traveled for the brand."
Mr. Starr, you will be missed.

Paul was so genius beating faces that he was not a make-up artist but a magician. He was kind, classy, beautiful inside and out. We were kids together in Hawaii and he was fabulous as a teen too. I will miss him so much. to all of you out there that knew him are we going to start a Paul Starr museum? I will miss you titta, all my aloha, Andrea

i am very inspired by paul starr, he was a amazing make-up artist!
i have choosen to do my HNC fashion and photographic make-up graded-unit on him.
i was just wondering if anyone knew his cause of death, and any other information on him i can add to my portfolio would be greatly apperciated! xx
