2009 Emmy Roundup by AATP Intern:
I love Lindsay Price's simple, yet appropriate night eye look. Being that it's 5pm on the West Coast the makeup has too look appropriate for both day and for evening. This is just the right amount of subtle day with light lips and cheeks and a more intense night look on her eyes. Glossy hair and shimmering skin rounded out her look beautifully. Lindsay is such a gorgeous beauty and I can't wait to see more of her.
Jamie-Lynn Sigler rocked the matte skin look that I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this autumn. Her matte lips perfectly complimented her dark, intense eyeliner. Her strong brows and fabulous up-do really accentuate her eyes and make her look sophisticated and grown up. The fabulous earrings really add some glamour to her otherwise simple look. Jamie-Lynn has classic good looks and she really knows what to do to accentuate that.
I thought the best skin of the night belonged to Kate Walsh. Her foundation, blush and bronzer really shone through with a lighter eye and lip. She had just the right amount of shimmer on her cheeks to bring out her bone structure without making her look like a teenager. Her red hair was fabulous as usual, styled down and straight and who could miss that mischievous twinkle in her beautiful green eyes?
Drew Barrymore was the surprise hit of the night as I've found her latest red carpet styles to be either hit or miss lately. Her blond locks were pulled back into an awesome loop that exemplifies California cool. Her full lips were accentuated with a bright strawberry red stain and her eyes were simple with champagne shadow. She looked sweet and happy on the red carpet that it was hard not to smile along with her.
The ladies in the over 40 set looked amazing at this year's Emmy's and it was great to see how many of them were represented this year. Way to go ladies! The best look of the night, in my opinion, for this age group was Vanessa Williams. Vanessa always looks fabulous and tonight was no different. Her luscious thick locks went to new heights and her simple eye makeup accentuated her gorgeous eyes. She kept the lips simple and sweet and let her dress and jewels speak for themselves.
Christina Hendricks has striking good looks that are so hard to ignore and she plays them up on the red carpet. Her amazingly beautiful red locks were pulled off her face in a chic up-do allowing us to see more of her gorgeous face and her green eyes. She played up both her eyes and lips with a lavender tinged pink that really works with her fair, cool toned skin. The best part of her look were those stunning earrings that I just couldn't keep my eyes off all evening. I love seeing more voluptuous woman taking over the red carpet and even though I've never seen an episode of Mad Men I can't wait to see more of Christina.
There were a few obvious missteps at the Emmy's this year but I think none were as obvious as Hayden Pantierre. Hayden has such gorgeous skin, she is a face of Neutrogena after all, and I think it's a shame to cover it up in the way that she did. She was wearing too much foundation and bronzer and she looked really unnatural. Her red lips were amazing and I would have liked to see them with her flawless skin, not the waxy looking overkill she ended up sporting.
Kim Kardashian was another miss for the evening. While I know many of you love Kim's style (myself included) I couldn't help but notice the places she went wrong with her look this year. The lashes were too long and really distracted from her glorious brown eyes and I feel that the nude lip did her no justice. We all know that Kim is famous for wearing a nude lip but I think she would have looked better with a less matte version. Perhaps her biggest mistake was pulling her hair back so tight. While she does have an amazingly long, graceful neck and elegant bone structure the hair looked too severe with the already intense makeup. I would like to have seen her take one of these trends and rolled with it instead of trying to pull off all three at once.

LOVE your top three ladies and you are SO right about Hayden and Kim - thanks for sharing the great recap and photos!
