We're back from Vegas. Of course, I arrived more tired than before I left (if that's even possible with a two month old). But I can't complain, we had a great time and I even came home with some Christmas spending cash. As promised, here are some of my favorite places in Vegas. John and I always stay at the Wynn Hotel. It's at the end of the strip far away from all of the traffic. When you walk into the hotel, you almost forget you are in Vegas. Yes, there's a casino, but the focus isn't on the casino. The hotel is beautiful, filled with the most amazing orchids. I've heard that Mrs. Steve Wynn helped to decorate this one. On Saturday, I had a massage. I love the spa at the Wynn. It's not too big like the ones at Bellagio and the Venetian and the service is first class. After a massage, I recommend the deluge shower and sauna. Divine!
Two of my favorite restaurants-Alex and Okada-are in the Wynn. Alex is run by Chef Allessandro Stratta. It's received every food award that you can think of. If you are celebrating a special occasion, this is the place to go. For fresh, innovative sushi you can't beat Okada. Another one of my favorite restaurants is Mix at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. Mix is located on the 64th floor atop the hotel. The huge glass windows give you excellent views of the Strip. Mix has a bar/lounge next door which is perfect for a cocktail before or after dinner. Come dressed to the nines for this place. It's got a hip vibe and everyone is beautiful. For lunch, I have two recommendations. One is Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris. If it's a nice day, ask to be seated outside. The terrace faces the Strip and is a great place for people watching. The frites (french fries) are delicious. Olives at the Bellagio is also another fun place to have lunch. The best seats are on the balcony-you can enjoy the fountain show while sipping on some Chalk Hill Chardonnay (my absolute favorite chardonnay-I have Julia hooked on this one).
Vegas is also famous for its shopping. It has every store imaginable from Louis Vuitton and Chanel to Nanette Lepore and Laundry. For us beauty junkies, there is a large Sephora store too. If you don't like to gamble, you can spend the day shopping.
Vegas has something for everyone. John and I are already planning our next trip back.

P.S.-We're leaving for Argentina this weekend. We're taking our son to meet his great grandparents. Should be an interesting flight. So, I'll be on hiatus until the following week - talk to you then. Remember the Moor Allure contest is happening at 2:00pm EST.
