The Fairmont in Washington, DC is located in the Georgetown corridor and close to numerous restaurants, shopping, and a nice walk to all the site-seeing venues. I recently had the pleasure to have an overnight stay at the property to discover their newly remodeled rooms and to see what plans the property has for the near future. DC is a hotel town. Being we are the Hollywood of politics, it makes sense that hotels play a key role in the city. We have conventions, tourists, schools, and more vying for attention when visiting.
The Fairmont is a substantial hotel. When I walked in I didn’t realize how big the hotel was in size. It has over 400 rooms and all the rooms are being remodeled or have been remodeled with each having a DC theme. The rooms have enough outlets and USB chargers, so all my devices could charge at the same time. And they have an HDMI hookup for the TV. I like to travel with my HDMI cord for streaming and it’s changed my travel game.
If fitness on the road is your thing like it is mine, the in-house gym is run by Balance Gym and features daily classes, cardio equipment, and Crossfit. Plus, you can order from the restaurant to your room Paleo or gluten-free food options.
My favorite part of a hotel is their bathroom amenities. Yes, I judge a hotel by this. The Fairmont has Le Labo. Let’s discuss this for a minute. Le Labo is the cult French fragrance company that started out as perfume and now has linen wash (divine I tell you), candles, and body washes and soaps. These are the type of bathroom amenities you actually want to take. (more…)
