Nexxus Pro-Mend Hair Collection is a nightmare to split-ends. At first I didn’t believe the claim, but after a few weeks of trying I must say the straggly ends are looking much better. It’s one of those hair care systems that I like and loathe at the same time. I love mixing products, but I think this collection works better when used together. My hair loved the conditioner and overnight treatment, but the shampoo dried my hair out. I didn’t straighten my hair when I used it, but I’m interested to see how my split-ends look after a great blow dry. I usually leave the heat alone in the summer, but you never know.
I always troll Sephora’s To-Go-Beauty section before every trip. It’s amazing what I can find there in travel sizes or to test out to see if it’s worth buying the larger size. I picked up the Josie Maran Argan Hair Serum and plan to give it a whirl this week while I’m in Argentina. I’ve used a few other Josie products and I do like the brand. Whenever I use hair serums that pour I end of using way to much product. This product is probably great for after the beach hair care. I hope this hair serum works. I like the size of it and also like the fact that it comes in a pump formula.
Andre Walker is best known as Oprah’s hair care genius. For all these years he has kept her hair looking healthy and at times in the 80s a little different. But one thing is for sure – it’s healthy. I remember the episode where Chris Rock rubbed his hands through her hair and I kept thinking it’s so shiny. It’s Andre. He debuted his hair care line last year for HSN and I finally got my hands on the product.
The Andre Walker Ultimate Hair Care Gift Set comes with a shampoo, conditioner, Q-Oil, and highlighter pen/root touch pen. My favorite products are the conditioner and Q-Oil. The oil is lightweight and not heavy at all. The conditioner left my hair feeling soft and easy to comb through which my curls really liked. My hair did not like the shampoo. It just did nothing for it so I after 5 or 6 washes I moved on and kept the conditioner to use as co-wash (washing only with conditioner). I don’t know if a repeat of this set is in order.
I usually think of R&B and music. R&B is rhythm and blues, but in this case it has to do with my hair. LUSH R&B Hair Moisturizer (Revive & Balance) is pure genius. Seriously. I’m testing so many hair products to help moisturize and sooth my dry hair. I’m treating my hair like my yoga practice. Slow and steady wins the race – deep condition once a week, truly moisturizing products, and lots of TLC. I realize that when I write down my “Self-Love” goals I can actually get through them.
This product was created by a few LUSH UK Managers for African American hair, but trust me if you need to revive and balance your hair this is a great product. It has all the moisturizing ingredients that hair needs – coconut, olive, avocado, and jojoba oil. I’ve already extracted enough for my travel container. A little goes a long way. And the smell. The smell is so yummy that I wish they came up with a solid fragrance in the same scent. I plan to pick up a Godiva Solid Shampoo Bar before I leave next week.
If you live in my area it seems as Spring is never coming. I’ve been growing my hair out again and plan to get a proper haircut in the next few weeks. I can’t wait to see what it looks like blown out because I’ve been rocking my natural curls. So far, I haven’t had the clippers in my head, but with me you never know.
I love some big hair. It could be the Texas girl inside me and Babyliss Big Hair might work to give my hair some lift. Babyliss also has tons of travel hair styling products so if you are in the market for a mini flat iron they have a cute pink and white version.

I hope everyone is giving their locks some TLC this winter. I have been deep conditioning like crazy. I go outside and it is freezing, but every place I enter has heat on steroids. This weather isn't great for my face and my hair needs a pick-me-up as much as possible. I give you Essentious Natural Hair Care. The products are moisturizing, free of parabens, and have all around hair goodness. The Protein Treatment is rocking my hair world this winter and the Daily Moisturizer smells so good I wish they made it into a body oil.
I discovered It's a 10 Leave-In at one of my favorite New York boutique Georgia. I've been going through leave-in conditioner like a mad hair woman due to the weather. I haven't started wearing hats yet and to me they destroy my hair. I have a few hats that are lined, but it's still the same. As soon as I take the hat off my hair continues to feel dry. This product is going to be added to the leave-in arsenal. I love fall and winter for their restorative components. It is the time to take it slow, eat lots of soups (homemade if possible) and regroup. But, I also have to make sure my hair is healthy in preparation for Spring.
