Beauty Duty: Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty

Spring 21DOB Beauty Steals

Let’s start off by saying I haven’t stepped foot into an Ulta in over year. It’s not because I don’t like Ulta, but they aren’t close to my house and I hated going out in the cold. Thank goodness they are online and I can get all my needs beauty needs met. But, I miss the tactile experience of visiting Ulta. So, I’m making a date in my calendar to actually go and touch the products since Spring is coming. Yay! I’m excited for their 21 days of Beauty and daily beauty sales. I have my eye on some Tarte and Japonesque.

NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Panic

NARS Dual-Intensity Blush Panic

My makeup and my life are in desperate need of a little color injection and NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Panic was the perfect accoutrement to bring my makeup bag back to life. I usually apply 2-3 different blushes most days and I have been wearing lots of neutrals. Let me just say this is a great blush on my brown skin. It gives great color and is perfect for spring. At first glance the colors seem loud. But, with most NARS bright blushes they look phenomenal on most skin tones. Example, Exhibit A. It’s a crazy bright orange, but when you put it on it’s a stunner. It feels amazing on my skin and I’m happy because today there isn’t a windchill below 10 degrees.

The smile on my face is because I know spring is on her way and just this thought brightens my mood. Yesterday I spent the day at a work event, then exploring the city, and finished at the National Gallery of Art for an artist date as per Julia Cameron. It was glorious walking all over the city and being outside. My new blush made it twice as nice. Get this in your arsenal.

Pretty Beauty Radar: CHANEL Beauty Spring 2015 Collection

Chanel Spring 2015 copy

CHANEL Beauty Spring 2015 is on my radar and totally giving me life. I know according to the calendar Spring is coming, but the snow this morning has me willing and chanting it to come sooner. I know it’s winter, but Jesus I need a break. I hate being such a bitter girl and counting down the months until I’m back in Houston. I just really want to wear my Birkenstocks all day so I’m whining like a baby and not a boss.

I’ve been organizing and cleaning out tons of old makeup and beauty products and excited for the new purchases that are going to make their way to the beauty arsenal. I was perusing Neiman Marcus online and stumbled across these beauties. Oh Chanel. You give me so much joy. I’m still wearing my hot pink lip gloss Jalousie from a few years ago so I decided a bold lipstick was what I needed. The collection is pretty and gives me something to look forward to in beauty. My list includes the following

Nails: Desiro
Lips: Rouge Allure in Elusive
Eyes: Paris Woven
Cheeks: Angélique

What makeup are you looking forward to for spring?

Gucci Beauty Audacious Color-Intense Lipstick in Iconic Red

1.12.14

I was on the hunt for a new red lipstick. I wanted it to be beautiful, highly pigmented, moisturizing, and look good coming out of my pocketbook. It was going to replace one of my favorite reds, but you ladies know how it is. You just need something new. I give you Gucci Beauty Audacious Color-Intense Lipstick in Iconic Red. All I can say is thank you Pat McGrath. She has created some of the best  beauty products on the market and she hasn’t disappointed with this red. It’s everything Gucci represents – glamour and sexy. When I wear this I only wear mascara and a very neutral blush. That’s it. The color doesn’t need anything else.  Get it in your lifestyle.

Beauty Buzz: CHANEL Soho Limited Edition Collection

To celebrate the reopening of the CHANEL Boutique
in SoHo, CHANEL Global Creative Director of Makeup Peter Philips has created
a limited edition collection that echoes the spirit of SoHo. “For me,
SoHo is a place where Bohemian ideals meet the toughness of the city…
I love the tension and energy this creates.” says Peter Philips.

The SOHO STORY Collection is a study in extreme
contrasts, partnering feminine pinks and roses with strong, industrial
metallics. From pretty cheekbones to anthracite nails, tender creams and
flashes of metal simultaneously reflect and contradict each other. “I
had a specific girl in mind who is both hard and soft. A girl who discovers
a new city, a new life.” adds Peter Philips. “This is a very special
kind of New York woman.  She is innocent, but she has a steely determination
that fuels the city.”

Chanel Soho

The collection’s SOHO DE CHANEL Exclusive
Creation reflects a Pop Art influence.  Stamped with the four letters
of SoHo, this silky powder comes in a delicate palette of shades and, when
dusted across the face, creates a subtle, natural glow.
