Estée Lauder Mad Men Collection Blush

EL Mad Men Blush

I have to admit that I have never seen an episode of Mad Men. I know that sounds crazy. But, I never got into it. I love the fashion from the era, but watching it not so much. I’m trying to limit my TV viewing time and I can’t add another show. I didn’t even realize that a new season of The Borgias started last night. I need to do a fast recap of that as well.

Let’s get back to this Estée Lauder Men Collection Blush in Light Show and why it is perfect for spring. I use it as a highlighter on my cheekbones and it makes any blush color pop. The shimmery-peachy color is part of the repertoire. The compact is so beautiful that I like to leave it out like a piece of art. I can’t get enough of how much fun it is to look at every day – just like Don Draper. I might not watch the show, but I definitely know Jon Hamm.

This blush will be on my cheeks all spring.

{As you can see the blush is darker in real beauty life}

Mai Couture 2-1 Oil Blotting/Bronzing Papier in Sin City

Mai Couture 2-1 Blotting_Bronzing Paper

The pesky shine that happens on most of our faces. If you are dry, oil, normal, combination it really doesn’t matter. Over the course of the day most women will more than likely have shine on the nose and forehead. I definitely have tons of shiny forehead moments during the day. I carry around blotting papers, but discovered these Mai Couture Bronzing Papiers – life changing. I love to bronze. I have the constant need to believe I’m living the life of a beach babe. Obviously, I’m not. These papiers give the right amount of bronze to my skin. I do blend it a little into my skin to give me that va-va-vom glow and not looking like Edward in the sun (Twilight series analogy), but they are so worth having in my pocketbook.

Lash Love: Stila Cosmetics MAJOR Major Lash Mascara

Stila Major Major Lash

I am having major lash envy. Only to myself of course. I want them to look fake, but on a daily basis. I want to look like I have individual lashes on at all times. I’m not ready for lash extensions. I decided that I’m going to abide by some major beauty rules this year and change my mascara frequently. I have a tendency to really keep and use them way too long. I know you are saying to yourself – bad beauty writer. To kick off this new beauty endeavor and take me from my mascara abyss is Stila Cosmetics MAJOR Major Lash Mascara. This is some mascara goodness ladies. It gives my lashes that va-va-voom look, but it does not clump. It has the perfect amount of pigment, long lasting, and makes my lashes bump my eyeglasses at times. As you’re reading this I’m batting my lashes.

Votre Vu Eiffel Power Mascara

I’m currently channeling my super girl powers here in Louisiana. I am so relaxed and it is hard to put on makeup. I am having a blast hanging out with family, but I plan on putting on my face at least once before the husband arrives. In honor of Paris and this time of thanks I will be wearing Votre Vu’s Eiffel Power Mascara. Votre Vu is on of my favorite French brands and I am excited to finally try their mascara. I need a little pick-me-up and usually beauty does that. Being in the home where I spent a lot of my childhood with Mama Dear and her makeup counter makes me nostalgic for those good ‘ole days. I know she is looking down on me and telling me to apply another coat of mascara. Yes ma’am I will.

Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer

I want to personally thank my friend Susie for bringing the Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer to my life. I knew about the Jouer brand because I’m a fan of their lip sheers. But I didn’t plan on buying the balm. Well, on the train ride from Paris to Provence my girl Susie pulled it out on the train. Susie and I had been seeing each other at yoga, but we really didn’t know each other. Well after the train rides, yoga, subsequent art journal time, and hanging out – I have a little sister. This girl is hysterical and she’s a beauty junkie so we really hit it off.

I love the weight of this lip balm for summer. It’s moisturizing, but lightweight at the same time. I have been using it underneath lipsticks and lip glosses. I can’t get enough.

I’m Glossy!

Bonjour, I’m back from a great time in France. I had such an amazing time and will post photos on my Facebook page and will link them later. I’m headed back out of town for a weekend getaway Friday. I had to leave you with a post on the new monthly mailbox beauty subscription. When I first heard of GLOSSYBOX, the international beauty sample experience I couldn’t help of think of the Kelis song I’m Bossy. GLOSSYBOX is a monthly sampling beauty program that has just arrived in the U.S. There are editions in Japan, Australian, France Italy, and Switzerland just to name a few. It was fun opening up the beauty box of delights.

I have to admit they had me at Bonjour with the packaging of a beautiful pink box and delicately wrapped beauty products in travel themed tissue-paper. Seriously, I need a subscription just to keep the boxes. The beauty goodness for April and May didn’t disappoint with samples from Basq (Cucumber Tea Eye Gel), OPI, Cargo (Eye Bronzer), and Kryolan New High Gloss Brilliant Lip Shine that is exclusive to GLOSSYBOX before its U.S. launch. I see London, I see France, and I see GLOSSYBOX being delivered every month.

I love me some beauty.

Boots No7 Poppy King Lipstick in History

There’ is a new red lipstick in my collection and it is courtesy of Target and Poppy King. The sheer loveliness of Boots No 7 Poppy King Lipstick in History is great for spring. It is not as intense a red that one might think. It glides on easily and leaves a perfect red hue to my lips. I have a few Lipstick Queen lipsticks, but I usually wear them in the fall since they are highly-pigmented. This is just enough pigment to be noticed and light enough that my lips don’t feel super heavy. I have also come to the conclusion that I can never have enough lip color. I wear lipstick to yoga ladies. Yep, I do. I suggest you order it now. It is just that lovely.

If you haven’t read her book Lessons of a Lipstick Queen please do so. It is a great book on believing in something, working hard, and seeing your hard work pay off.

Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara

Ladies, this is the mascara I have been using for a month. It’s from our lovely friends across the pond and I have been reading about it for months. Well the lovely folks at Sephora are bringing us to this side of the pond. Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara is currently on my I love you long time shelf in my beauty arsenal. I use likely a fatter brush for my mascara because that’s just me. This is super skinny, but it delivers a highly pigmented product that makes up for the skinny brush. Plus, this is not a fiber mascara which I am happy about. For some reason fiber based products don’t do anything for my lashes. If you want to get your va-va-voom lashes on, put some Eyeko in your life.
