It's the last day of the year, but that doesn't mean we can't open our hearts to help others. This is one of the easist ways to help. CouponMountain has pledged to give up to $50,000. But we need some help. The amount of money Toys for Tots gets will be determined by the number of Facebook fans CouponMountain has on Dec. 31. They’re going to give $1 for every fan (up to $50,000). It could be a big donation – but right now there’s a lot of money that WON’T be given because we haven’t reached 50,000 people.

Glamour and L’Oreal Paris have partnered together to create a limited-edition nail color in honor of Glamour's Women of the Year Awards milestone 20th Anniversary. For every bottle sold $3.00 will go to support the philanthropic work of the winner of our Glamour Women of the Year Fund initiative.
This year the initiative supports the humanitarian efforts of Dr. Hawa Abdi of Somalia. Three dollars of every bottle sold will go to support her efforts. Dr. Abdi, a 63-year-old ob-gyn, and her two doctor daughters provide food and care on her family’s land outside Mogadishu to approximately 90,000 Somalis displaced by that country’s violence.
UPDATE: I've extended the contest until Monday, October 25.
I have a girl crush on Tory Burc. It started with her ballet flats and then became a full-on obsession. She is a travel junkie and many of her designs are inspired by her travels. This week the fab Ms. Burch is celebrating National Business Women's Week which highlights the progress of female business owners in the U.S. The Tory Burch Foundation also provides women with small business loans around the world to fight poverty and creat jobs. She has a special collection that benefits the foundation and includes bracelets, flips, and a music CD with some of Tory's favorite tunes.
The wonderful Tory Burch Foundation is giving one reader of All About the Pretty a Tory Burch Foundation CD. Hopefully the music will inspire you to bless someone else because we are blessed to be a blessing. I hope you fall in love with Michael Franti and Spearhead. They are an awesome group. Love them. The contest will be available for 24 hours ending tomorrow. The winner will be announced on Wednesday.
The pony symbol is ubiquitous to Ralph Lauren, but the Pink Pony is the emblem for Ralph Lauren's fight against cancer year round. I am grateful to be asked to participate in the Ralph Lauren 100 Bloggers Unite Against Cancer Campaign and to proudly wear the Pink Pony emblem. My family has felt the effects of this disease and I was happy to participate. To see a gallery of the 100 bloggers head over to AOL Stylist. I'm number 37. I'm "blushing" in the company of these talented bloggers – many are also friends.
Merci et Bisous Monsieur Lauren.
My Sister's Place is "the largest and oldest non-profit agency exclusively serving battered women and their children in the District of Columbia." My yoga studio has worked with them before and now one of my friend's is helping with a charitable and fashionable event here in DC. The Power of the Purse will benefit the My Sister's Place community and unveil their new emergency shelter. There will be a silent auction featuring luxe handbags, hors d'oeuvres, and a live jazz band trio. If you live in the area or want to make a contribution this is a great organization that helps many families deal with omestic violence. Remember, we are blessed to be a blessing.

Rooftop Terrace at 101 Constitution Avenue, NW
Tickets – $100
If you live anywhere near the D/M/V then head out to Shop-O-Nomicsclearance shopping event which is to help bring awareness to Success in Style, a non-profit organization that provides free business attire to low-income women who are seeking employment. I enjoy events like this because it supports great organizations and I get to stimulate the economy in the process. There is nothing like pretty philanthropy.
