can someone pleeeeeeease explain the Penelope Cruz look for me! I want to recreate it so badly, but I cannot for the life of me understand how you put navy eyeshadow over navy eyeliner in the inner rims of your eyes...that screams disaster to me. navy eyeshadow would run into your eye because of the water...........ughhh so confused.

JSG, lots of bronzer and just not in HD. I still feel that those looks were rushed. I'm sure they didn't have that week of pampering their skin they normally have. I think Alba has that pregnant glow going and Marion is French and Penelope is Spanish, which always means skin is the most important accessory. You know how European women are skin first, makeup second.

This was my first year watching the Oscars in high-def. It was encouraging (on a personal level) and disappointing (on a "your not so fantasic" level). One thing I'm wondering: did it look like a few of the stars had too much bronzer on? Specifically, Cameron and Jennifer Gardner had so much bronzer on their skin looked ruddy. I'm not blaming the color on the t.v. because others like Jennifer Alba (gorgeous), Marion Cottilard and Katherine Heigl looked great. Any thoughts?

I think Katherine Heigl's look is very Marilyn Monroe. Maybe it is the new trend (Lindsay Lohan in New York magazine).

Catherine Hiegl's makeup artist should have used bronzer on the rest of her body. It looks like she has random dirt spots on her face. Bronzer should look like you are naturally bronze.
