I feel a bit misty-eyed as a I type this, but since I'm not wearing waterproof mascara I have to focus. I wasn't quite ready to leave Cabo, to stop seeing El Arco out of my hotel window, and unlimited amounts of beverages (the margarita variety to be specific). That's what I had while staying at the RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas. When it was suggested to stay at an all-inclusive I was a little hesitant. My first thought went to "is the food good." I couldn't help it. I'm a foodie and a big part of a getaway is the food, beach, and spa. The hotel didn't disappoint us. The array of food was a feast for the eyes and a journey for the senses. My favorite restaurant was called "The Gourmet." It was a great place to spend our last night at as a group with great food, conversation, and lots of laughter. The hotel was exceptionally clean. I swear they clean that place 24/7. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. If you go tell Andres and Roberto - I said Hola.
But that pales in comparison to the spa.
The spa uses Payot Skincare. A top skincare line in Paris it's fortified with all natural ingredients. I treated my skin - sunburned and in need of some TLC to a Harmony Body Wrap and Flash Facial. My mind and body achieved harmony as it was gently scrubbed and wrapped in patchouli and vanilla oil with mud. I am will forever love a mud wrap. (Skip this if you are claustrophobic). While I laid swaddled in the scent of peace, my face received a Flash Facial that produced an amazing glow. My treatment ended with a gentle massage. I was so relaxed that I could barely wake up. Ladies, it was 80 minutes of sheer decadence that I can't wait to experience again. I wanted to roll my body around sand on the beach just to have the treatment again. To the RIU, I will see you again. Soon, very soon.
The only way I can describe the RIU is with a song. Michael Buble's L-O-V-E to be exact.

As much as I love Michael, I was really sad when it was time to go home.
